I would like to upgrade my charging wire from
my alternator.

Can I leave the stock wire on? It runs to
the charger before continuing to the battery.

I want on run the upgraded wire directly to
the battery from the alt without removing the
stock charging wire. Is this doable.

Thanks to anyone for the help.

yes u can leave it if ur gonna show under hte hood it is nice to have 4 awg or 8 awg high current wire and this will also produce less noise going through there since it is high current wire doesn;t hurt but really u should be fine but the lil things matter!!!!!

LEAVE THE STOCK CHARGE WIRE IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't you risk burning up the fusable links that supply current for the car.

okay,

So I see that the stock wire should stay. I
just want to make sure that I can add the
4ga wire to the battery. The battery (red top
optima) has side post and top post. Right now
I'm not using the top posts.

Can I connect the additional cable to the top
posts and leave the stock wiring in place?

Thanks!!!
