I have an optima yellow top in my car for about a year now. I just purchased a second to connect in parallel with the old one. They both have the same standing voltage of 12.75v. Would this bge safe as far as discharging the new one, or should i just go ahead and do it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

i wouldnt do it, ive done that before in my wheelchair where one battery was about a month old and one was new, it ruined the new one. but that may not be the case if you use an isolator, the isolator may prevent that from happening.
