Hi, i was looking into getting one of those optima yellow top batteries sine i will have 4 amps running once im done with my total install. what does it take to run another battery? do i need to upgrade the alternator?I really have no clue as far as batteries go, so any advice would be GREAT! thanks

take a look at the battery and cap (i think thats what its called) topic, it will answer most of your questions, but then again, hertz will probably confuse you, so ill give you my opinion on it. add up the fuse ratings on the amps, then divide that by two (this is not exact but it will give you a pretty good estimate of how much the amps are drawing continuously) but to be sure of what its drawing, install the amps, then take your car to a local battery shop or alt. shop and get them to test the current draw of the system when your air and headlights and wipers and system is on, all at a moderate level, if that is drawing more than the alt can put out you need a new alt, batteries will do no good. if it isnt, and your lights arent dimming or voltage droping, dont do anything, if you do have a slight voltage drop, add a cap close to the amps.
