I need a little help with the wiring on my system. I have a RF Power 800a4 and an RF Punch 800a4. The Power will be pushing my sub, and the Punch will be pushing my mids and highs. I need to know exactly how to wire my car for these amps. I also have two 1 farad RF caps if I am going to need them both. I have never used caps before, so the wiring for them I am not too sure about. I have some 4 gauge power cable to run from my battery back to the distribition block in my trunk. But I have heard from some people that I might need to have some more 4 gauge wire between my alternator and negative post on my battery running back to my trunk. Or something like that. Please give me some guidance here on hooking this stuff up. Thanks. By the way, I have a '91 Honda Prelude that all this stuff is going into.
1. yes, you do need to upgrade your grounds for the alt and batteries, to AT LEAST 4. since its only a short distance, go ahead and get big wire, it wont hurt to over do it a little there. when you only talking about 2 feet, its not like you will be waisting a lot of $$ on something you dont really need.
2. as for the caps, you may not HAVE to have them, but since youve already got them, hook them up, they can only help. the general rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000 watts, so you prob should put at least one in there (not really sure how many watts because i dont know how your planning on wiring the drivers), like i said before, cant hurt unless your altinator is really small. as for the installation of them, ive seen it done before, but since i personally have never done it, ill let someone else explain it, it isnt very complicated.
3. this one is just my opinion, i would put the punch on the subs and the power on the mids and highs unless your going to run it 2 ohm mono. the powers are a little cleaner than the punches, so the power i think should go on the mids and highs, assuming you getting about the same power out of both. the little extra distortion (probably cant even here it anyway) wont be heard in the low frequencies.

no, there isnt a ground wire between the alt and battery, or isnt on most cars. you need to upgrade the ground from the - post on the batt to the frame or body, whichever its connected to and then upgrade the ground between the alt and frame (sometimes this doenst have to be done) most alts are grounded through the engine block, but in some cases, the bolts that hold the engine in arent enough to ground it to the frame good enough, in this case, you should run a big wire from the block to the frame. usually its grounded good enough here, but you should check it. im having mine upgraded just to make sure.
