ok right now im running 2 dei 1100's and a dei 200 off a stock 80 amp alternator and a 850cca duralast gold battery. lol whenever i blast my bass my lights die out and my voltage drops to 11v (maybe less). i cant really afford a $600 alternator for my car right now so....
1> if i were to put a couple 12v deep cycles in the trunk would it be a lot more stress on my alternator than there already is?
2> would 2 deep cycles help any without the alternator upgrade?
3> what size wire and fuse would you suggest? im probably going to upgrade the alt soon enough so would 1/0 be good for say...a 200 amp? would i use a 200 amp fuse for a 200 amp alt?
4> what type of things such as circuit breakers, solenoids, or others should i use?
5> how many batteries would i actually need?
6> should i expect any significant increase in spl with the boost from like 11v to 12.8?
sorry for all the questions but i need to get this figured out! thanks to anyone who replies!

My friend said that my speakers are cooler than yours.... therefore I'm cooler than you are. Don't argue with me about it either.

1) Depends on the situation. If your talking about pulling into the lanes and giving your system a single burp, putting batteries in the back will lessen the instantaneous load on the alternator, actually helping it. Now say you park somewhere and play your stereo for an hour, then start your car up and expect your alternator to instantly charge all those batteries back up... yes, It will be very hard on the alternator.
2) Yes, they would help, again, depending on the situation. One thing to keep in mind: It takes power to make power. The only thing making power in your system is the alternator, a battery is merely a storage tank.
3) 1/0 sounds good. If you are putting batteries in the back, you need to fuse front AND back, 18 inches or less from each battery.
4) Circuit breakers/fuses for fusing. Solenoids are only needed if you plan on doing a lot of vehicle off playing.
5)Are you planning on stickign with just those 3 amps? If so, get a good battery under the hood, put another of the same in back, and you should be good.
6)Depends on the amps. If they are non regulated, then, yeah, probably. Your looking at about a 10% increase in voltage supply, which would compute to ROUGHLY the same in output wattage.
I'm really tired... i'm going to bed now goodnight
