i bought this car used 3 years ago its got like 200 000 kms on it. When i first put stereo in it the alt was dead within 2 months. The first system consisted of an orion 260 cobalt (240watt) and 2 piece o'crap 12's. After about 2 months the belt started slipping even though it was nice and tight. When i brought the alt to be looked at the guy took it apart and it was destroyed inside. Like mangled wires and indications of burning. It looked like it was cooked. So i buy a replacement one. A remnufacuterd bosch one, that puts out 66amps a small step up from the 50something amp factory one. Anyway my new amp arrives. An audio art 100 hc. This thing should be able to draw like 160 amps (or so im told) so the alt would never cut it. Well its roughly 2 years later and the belt is starting to slip on this alt. And i have a feeling its going to cook again. I need to know what will cure this problem. The alt is under warrenty and can replace it. But i need a cure that will give me at leats another year. Help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

Just another quick question... When the bass hits it lags the alt (makes it harder for the engine to turn) correct? I was just wondering.
