Hello guys. How are you doing? Well, I hope. It's been a while since i posted a qustion in this section of termpro. WEll, i decided not to use the rear fill at all. So, my front stage (still in process) consists of 5 1/4"woofers(lows), 1" tweeter(highs) and 6 1/2" midrange. Well, I am thinking about providing rear passengers with some multimedia by using LCD monitors in the headrests. I belive a lot of those LCD monitors come with built-in spakers but, i don't want to use them and i want to play sound through the entire sound system. I am wondering if i need rear fill for LCD monitors. I bet rear passengers won't be too happy without rear fill. Pleae let me know your thoughts. Thanks you very much. Have a good one.

Well.. Have you considered using headphones? That would work moderately well and be pretty simple to provide. Also.. If you really WANT to have LCD's, you should consider sacrificing and going with rear fill. Just a set of decent coaxials will work wonders for back seat enjoyment, saving that they must match the front speakers.

Thanks a lot for your help. I appreciate it.. Well, I thought about using the built-in headphones but, i won't have stereo that way(mono instead, i think). As you suggested, I guess i will look into a set of nice coaxials. but, My question is am I better off with coaxials or midrages for the rear?(provided that I use rearseat LCD for passengers)... Also, Is there any way I can hook up LCD monitors to my front stage speakers??This way, i don't have to buy coax or midrages for passengers....Just food for thought. Let me know what you think. Thanks
As Dukk said, you can have the rear-fill defeatable, either via fader on the deck which is easy, or simply switching the rear fill amp off. I would DEFINATELY go with coaxials, as simple mids would not suffice for almost any variant of passenger...
If you have a extra set of preouts, you have almost enough right there to do a full spectrum stereo headphone set for each passenger, via a Y-splitter and a pair of headphone amplifiers (which are usually not too expensive, my man)

Thanks a lot guys...I can't believe I didn't think about that. Yeah, I guess I can turn off the rear spakers with fader... I guess i will only use the rear fill when the rear passengers want to watch movies or something....When I am alone in my car, i really don't want anything coming from the rear.. Well, just one more thing. I don't have an amp for coaxials(if i get one). I do have 4 ch. amp that's powering the seperates and midbass in the front. Now, do I need another amp for the coaxials? I was thinking about running the rear off the HU(cva-1000:35Wx4) but, that's like 11watts rms in reality. So, could you guys recommmend some amp just to run the rear fill?(if i really need one, that is). I really want to use Cadence. Please help. Thanks again. You guys are the best!!
Thanks guys for helping me out with this one. Okay, How about this?
Cadence A1(Ultra Shock Series) -2 channels, bridgeable I want to run the coaxials at 100X2 into 4ohms. Do you think this is a little too much for coaixals(MB quart PKC series)? I am asking because I am only running seperates and midbass at 65Wx4 into 4ohms. What do you think?
Would I be better off with Cadence Q200(Ultra Drive series)? it's 50Wx2 into 4 ohms with less features and less expensive than Cadence A1 (Ultra shock series). Please help. Let's just say money isn't an issue here(not true though,,,hehe).. Thanks. Please let me know what you think.
PS: let me ask this while i am at it.. What size coaxials should I get? 4" or 5 1/4" or 6 1/4"?? Let's just say money isn't an issue here..you know i am lying...hehee....
As i stated above, I have 5 1/4 woofer(lows) and 1"tweets(highs)in the kickpanel, and 6.5" midrage in the door location.

Good morning. How are you? hmm..you are suggesting I should get an amp that does 25Wx2? Then, I might as well run the coaxials off my HU CVA-1000(35Wx4). But, my concern is that 35w from alpine HU is equivalent to like 11 watts RMS in reality??. Do you think this will be enough to power MB quart coaxials and make rear passengers happy? I believe MB quart like lot of watts. Well, let me know what you think. Also, what size coax would you recommend? Thanks Dukk.

25 - 35 watts shouldn't interfere with your front stage, as Dukk suggested. I'd look into the 5.25s. They will give you more mid-bass than the 4s, but won't get as "warm" as the 6.5s, which could draw your sound stage back towards the rear.
If you weren't running Quarts, I'd say go for the HU power, but I think the Quarts will want a tad more power. My Kappas were ok with my Kenwood HU's power, but they were nowhere near their full capability.
I like the Headphone ideas, but I'm not sure if that wouldn't make your rear passengers feel enclosed (I'm kinda weird like that in a car) or like they're being kept out of a conversation. It's a great idea for keeping a good sound at an affordable price (well, you could always go for $250+/each Sennheiser [spelling?] 'phones .)
