Am I correct when saying Infinity Kappa
5 1/4's are 120 bucks a pair. What are your guys opinions on the best 5 1/4's for under 150 bucks?

I personally think Kappas are one of the best buys on the market.

Other worthy coaxials to look at:

* CV Stealth
* Blaupunkt (not equivalent to Kappa, but not bad for 40-60 bucks)
* Infinity Reference (typically = last year's Kappa)
* Kicker Impulse (I really liked mine in the BII)
* JBL Power (Made by Harmon/Kardon - makers of Infinity and kick-ass home audio)
* RF
* JL Audio
* Eclipse (Father-in-law's kick-butt!)
* Alpine
* Polk (not my fav, but excellent quality)
* Sony/Pioneer (See Polk)
* Kenwood HQ
* Boston Accoustics (WOW!! Very close if not above Kappa and Eclipse.)

My personal favs: Kappa, BA, Eclipse

FNX and FNQ are 2 of Rockford Fosgate's lines of component sets/mids/tweets. FNX is their middle line and FNQ is their top of the line.

So would you guys recommend these FNQ and FNX over the Kappa's and Boston's for the dollar amount of around 150?

Mostly cuz of familiarity with the RFs. I don;t know jack about the Kappas pr BAs but I DO know the FNQs are pretty skookum.

Kappas, BA, RF X & Q, Eclipse will all make you etremely happy!! The true test comes when you can put a couple, or all, of them head-to-head and listen for yourself. If you are not able to do that, due to dealer location, know that any purchase of those brands will be a good one .

Well I don't know what Skookum means as Audiophyle doesn't either. Also what do the FNQ's run for pricing?

According to Crutchfield, FNQ 5.25 comps = 350/pair. FNX = 229/par. RF FNP = 149/pair. Kappa = 279/pair. Polk DX = 299/pair. Pioneer = 179/pair. Kenwood = 139/pair. CV Stealth = 129/pair. Infinity Reference (last year's Kappas) = 129/pair. Panasonic = 99/pair. All of these prices are for component set.

Coaxial speaker:
Pioneer TS-G1345 = 49/pair. Blau PCxg542 = 59/pair. Infinity Ref 512 = 59/pair special offer. Panasonic EAK-DC130 = 65/pair. Kenwood KFC-137 = 70/pair. Kenwood KFC-1386 = 90/pair. Soy Xplod XS-V1330 = 80/pair. Pioneer TS-A1387 = 80/pair. Pionee TS-A139 = 90/pair. RF FRC-1205 = 90/pair. RF HPC-1205 = 130/pair. Polk EX502a = 90/pair. JBL GTO520 = 100/pair. Kappa 52.1i = 150/pair. Kenwood eXcelon KRC-Xr500 = 160/pair.

If you have the ability and cash flow, I'd go with the comp sets, but the coaxials will make you very happy too .
