I've noticed a few times when putting in the factory replacements that the manufacturer (spelling?) put in their 14 - 16 guage wire to run from the deck/amp. That is normally good enough, if the power source is not too big (10 - 50/channel). But, what do you experienced guys recommend for amps pushing 50 + watts RMS/channel? And, do you notice a difference between using 16 guage and 10-12 guage cable? Also, do you notice a difference between brands (speaker cable, not RCA/RFs). I remember when my dad got his infinity towers, the salesman convinced him to go with Monster Cable, because of the 500+ strands of copper wire vs. Brand X's less than 500 strands of copper wire.
Also, what about Oxygen free wire? Are all copper wires Oxygen free (I'm not that great with Chemistry anymore, so I forget how that process works)? Are Oxygen free wires better or is that just a gimmick?
Thanks for your input!! Even being experienced, I can always learn more from you guys....thanks for all the helpful replies in posts-past.

The difference between using 16 gauge and 12 gauge wire for speakers is a loss of decimals of decibels. (0.10 dB for example) All AWG wire made these days is OFC. Most of the myths these days are either created by companies that manufacture products, or audio "purists" that think $900 RCA connects are justifiably better than ones a tenth of the cost. The manufacturers are out to make more money, and the audio "purists" are out to impress people with their ability to spend money frivolously.
