Hello,
I know the question has been asked but I can't find it. I have my Infinity Beta 6.5's freeair in the doors at the moment. They sound great. Just wondering if putting them in enclosures would enhance the sound or hurt it? Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Jesse

I've heard from people that the mids are designed to be run free-air, and that enclosing them will choke them and hurt the sound. I've never tested this though, just heard from other people on here.

It depends a lot on how you like the sound. A small ported enclosure on a mid can sound very nice, same with sealed. Would it be a challenge to get/build a small box and see how it sounds to you? That's what I would do, make a decent box, nothing great, and just see how it sounds: free-air, sealed, ported. If possible, sit in the passenger seat and put the box on the driver's seat about where it would be on the door to see how it would sound - and vice versa for the passenger side.

Good luck

Personally, I like a ported mid sound, but that's me.

That's good advice Ber. I had the same thought. I am going to build an enclosure and do some testing. Thanks for the replies..

See if you can get t/s specs for the particular driver, plug them into a box program, and see what's what.
