What's up everybody. Okay, I'm having a REALLY hard time deciding between the Focal Polykevlar 165k3 and the CD Tech HD-642DT with the metal tweeter. Please share with me your opinions on either or both sets, especially on the midbass, quality of the tweeter (the highs), midrange, imaging, and overall SQ. And since I listen mostly to rap/hiphop, r'n'b, reggae, dance, techno, and rave music, which set would benefit me the most? Does the controlled dispersion technology allow the CDTs to have better imaging? These are the only sets I'm considering. I'm leaning towards getting the CDTs since they cost $150 less than the Polykevs, but if the Polykevs sound THAT much better, then I'll get the Focals instead. Do you think the price reflects the quality of both sets? I plan on powering the set I buy with around 130 watts. Thanks a lot for any help. There are no dealers in my area that sell Focal and CD Tech (I live in Canada...go figure), so I really need your opinions on this. PS - Please don't tell me it's based on personal opinion, listen for yourself, etc. I'm only asking for your own personal opinions here. Thanks.

The focal poly k3's by far. Almost every SQ world champion last year ran Focal. Focal is the highest quality product and you will never be let down with focal. I'm gonna run the K2's and they have awesome imaging. My friend runs them and he has come in 1st both times he's entered with them in his class. But that's just my opinion, I'm not too familiar with the CD's so..get some more info , but my vote is for the focals.

Well.. Simply for the construction and the reputaion, I would have to go with the focal's myself.. Especially if you get the ones with the trick looking phase plug (AKA Acoustic impedance correction device)

hey, dont sleep on the CD Techs. that's a great set. The only reason everyone is saying Focal is b/c they're unfamiliar with CDT. The 3 way set is great. They sound awesome for all purposes. I'm not saying the focals are bad, but it's time to try something new. Everyone has jocked the hell out of focal already. Yes, they're good but so are the CDT's. Move on
