okay...im looking at upgrading my components soon. My DEI's have great tweets, but the midbass is lacking in my opinion. They are definetly the best ive heard for under $200. but i want something more.
the three im looking at are the
Focal Polyflex 165H
CDTech CL-61
Diamond M561
I am sure the tweets from all these sets are plenty nice, but what I need to know is whos gonna give me the best midrange/midbass. I need tight, authoratative midrange/midbass. Im tired of wussy 6.5s that sound more like 4's. they will be powered by an ESX Q1204 (120 per channel), and put in custom kicks. unsealed for a little while, but i will seal the kicks up later on. anyone?
also, im open to suggestions for other components that would suit my taste in the same group as the above.

Okay, I'll help you out then. I've heard all three, and the CDTs and the Motorsports would have the best midbass, in my opinion. I would say they are pretty even. I thought the Motorsports had sweeter highs though.

I will disagree with that last post. The midbass is definately superior w/ the CDT's. From your description of what you want...I say CDT w/ o hesitation.
Others in that price range that I've heard, owned, or drooled over:
Infinity Reference = Last years Kappa series by and large CV Stealth - Vega series are better, but for the $ = good purchase. JBL - They've rocked the stage for years, don't sound too bad in the car either Orion Cobalt (still made?) - Impressed when I heard them, XTR series = better RF - entry level (sorry, can't remember letter designation) = good forthe $, two next levels = better and great MTX - 5K = great(Black Gold = very impressive)
Others to consider, more than 200/pair = Alpine, PG, Eclipse, BA, and McIntosh.
I've only heard good things about the brands you listed, but I've not heard them.
