I am considering the FNQ1614 component set. I only have a 400a4 for power and want to use just the front channels. Is 50 w/ch enough to make these puppies sing? What do they need to perform at their peak? Should I step down to the FNX's?

Anyone with these speakers - what kind of power are you sending them?

I am currently running the 5in version of the FNQ's in the mustang. I am powering them with a Power 800a4. I switched from MB Quart cause they just couldnt handle the power. The FNQ's never ever even flintch. I love theese mids and higs. I will tell u what though they dont sound as clean as some of the other mid and high choices, but they take that power all day long.

Unless RF precipitously decided to skimp on their amp output I think you will probably be sending well over 50/channel to those comps. If it were the 100a4, then I think we might have to reconsider amp choice, but me thinks you are pretty good with that amp.

I've thought of building a system around that amp in my truck, rears to a single 10 or 12 and fronts to the doors and dash. They'll take all the abuse you can give to them, both the amps and those comps.

It should be okay.

I prefer the 600a4 to the 400a4. The extra money is well spent...
