I now have a connection for Canton in Tulsa! The canton Tweeter does indeed sound quite a bit like the B&W, however, when compared to the B&W, it has a touch of a "canned" sound, but, hey, considering its 1/10 the price of the b&w, I'll settle for that, it can probably be eq'd out if you can even hear it in a car! I know of no online dealers that are authorized to sell mail order.... Sorry bub! I can get you hooked up though!
------------------ STILL waiting to hear a GOOD pair of HLCD's!!
If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...
No they are not hand made but then they aren't $1100 for a 6.5" comp set either. I have never said they were the best, just the best for their price, or even twice their price! I love Focal but would NEVER pay the price (and I deal at cost!)
Oh, and almost any speaker from any major company is tested before they leave the factory...

And that's the bottom line, cuz: LORD DUKK SAYS SO!
The Dukk says: Know your bass: PORT your damn box!!

Focal at cost is a lot cheaper now man if you have checked it out since last year it has gone way down man like polykelvalr 6.5" goes for 950 candian. thats with the phase plug and all and teh yuse to be 1400 dollars before cost went down. The Utopias go for 1800 retail and we usually sell them for 1600 candian dude and if you have heard them they are worth it.

The kevlars used to go for $1100. The Canton's go for $400.
Furthermore, if you price the Focal's against their European competition in other parts of the world they are much closer in price to the rest. It is only over here that they command such a high price. Somebody's making a LOT of cash and it's not the dealer.... I will not support that.

I could sell you kevlars for about 800 for 5-1/4 and 900 for 6.5" maybe even cheaper. It is a really good valued speaker though DUKK since we have got their 1800 dollar utopia we have sold 5 pairs. It's crazy everybody wants them. WE just installed them in a lincoln today.

I LOVE eclipse, but not their components.. That expensive three way set is pretty bad @$$, assuming you do the intelligent thing and drop the 6 and put in an 8.. The tweets just don't cut it, period.. They are too small, inefficient.. They lack prescense and depth, compared to the last series which were just TOO "present". Maybe bi amped to hell and back, they would sound OK, but I'll pass on them for now..
Even though I'm being d*cked around on a blown tweeter, i have to chip OZ audio into this list.. They're GREAT components, not very expensive. Little on the over-sensitive side, but hey... :-D
AVI - I've checked their website, alot of their speakers LOOK like they have some sensible engineering behind them.. I'm gonna try to get a listen to them at some point.. Nobody around here has even heard of them.
Fabric domes, thats what the world is about. Maybe you guys should consider swiping componentry from the home-audio market? Like Seas, Scan-Speak, the ungodly Dynaudio EsoTar equipment.... :-D
