I have the XR525 CS and I like it very much. I am giving them 100 watts per side. But like I said in the other JL post, everybody's ears are different.

I own JL XRs. very nice. MB Quart is good
but can be a little brite.

Incidentally I replaced my Quarts with JL
and got smoother sound.

Good Luck!!!

Go with the JL. The x-overs are very precise and clean(0 to -3dB selectable tweet). The woofer itself is just that, a woofer. Not some mid-range that got put on the wrong shelf. The tweeter on that particular piece is made of aluminum(very light, very efficient), and has an actual surround. I myself, have the XR650CS with about 300w per side. Gains barely turned up on amp. Plenty of power. Plenty of volume. NO DISTORTION. NO HARSHNESS.
So in conclusion, yes. Go with the JL.
