hey all,
I'm running a 3 way setup with Infinity Beta 6.5's, 4's and 1" tweets. The tweets are crossed @ 1.5 khz by the beta xp one x-over and the 4's are lowpassed @ that same 1.5 khz. I'm wondering what you think I should cross the 6.5's @ on the low end and the high end? and the 4's on the low end? I'm also running a single 12" infinity beta sub and was thinking 80 hz and down for that. please tell me your thoughts, as I'm no expert.
Thanks,
Jesse

That's pretty weird, Infinity usually likes their Xover points between the mid and tweet at 3.5khz.

Yeah, it's 1.5 khz. The beta one was some kind of special tweet. In the manual it says it was designed for handling lower frequencies than other tweeters. The thing actually has a rubber surround on it. Anyhow, any advice on crossover frequencies on the mids and sub?
Thanks,
Jesse

If that tweet can take it, then cool beans .

Mids...I normally keep them at a high-pass of 100 - 120 Hz. 80 - 85 Hz might be a bit too low for some, but those Betas are beasts, so they may be able to go down to 80 without saying ouch. Like Dukk said, if you can take them down, take them down. The bass guitar will sound that much better to you, same with the drums....all around warmer feel.

btw, tchort - nice bass!! What kinda music?

Thanks for the reply. On the infinity website it says the 6.5 will go down to 34hz and the 4 will go to 48, so I'll probably cross the 6.5 @ around 50 and the 4 maybe from 200-1.5khz. Thanks.
