Has anyone heard the DDaudio components? Do they compare to Boston, MBQ, Focal, Canton? I know that you guys are all thinking that this guy just needs to go listen for himself, but i have only had the opportunity to listen to Boston, MBQ, and Diamond Audio. I just need a screaming front stage that is clear and defined. Also, anyone installed components in a '93 Mustang before? If so, suggestions on either maintaining the door locations or kicks? Thanks for suggestions...

i auditioned them in randy coles CRX with one dd 9515 in the back and the top-o-the-line dd components in the kicks. i was freakin amazed. they sounded very very good. tight crisp midbass with smooth highs. sounded very musical but also had alot of authority. only dislike was the price of the crossover...man...i dont know what it costs now...but back when i looked at them...they were more expensive than the speakers. btw...this was back at 99 SBN...and i still havent heard a components set that impressed me as much as the dds...since then ive auditioned the bostons, mbqs, jls, among others.

A "screaming clear front stage" can be gotten best with a HIGH slope active crossover and bi-amping..
For example, lets say you took MB Quart Q series (or Reference) and crossed them over 100 hz High pass @ 24 db/0 and 4000 hz low pass @24 db/o (for the mid) and 4000hz High pass @ 24 db/o (for the tweet), then gave each pair a 150x2 amplifier (150 per channel), then kept your sensitivities low to avoid killing the drivers, you would have headroom and a very clean and freaking LOUD front stage.
Also- Horns (HLCD's) are very loud and very, very efficient, meaning you can put a pair on a small amplifier and get clean and frighteningly loud highs.. Take a look at this venue.
USD, ID, Protech, Illusion, Crystal and Veritas all make horns that'll chase you out of the car.
