I have the three way (non coaxial) set of the 6.5", 4" and 1". I was just wondering if anyone else had some of these and what they think of them. I think the tweeter is way too bright and harsh, being a metal dome and all...

Dont own a set, but have done some critical listening with 'em. I think the tweets sound damn good, CONSIDERING they're metal domes! I have to say the best sounding metal dome I've heard, other than B&W's. They may be a bit bright, but you can always pad 'em down if just overall too loud for you.

Audiophyle, how do I "pad down" tweeters that are sounding too bright? I've had that problem, even with crossovers set to -3db, and this sounds like a great solution.
You can always use an EQ to drop some of the frequencies a little, but why don't you consider just switching to a different tweeter and keeping the mids?

Sam, Orion used to make inline 3 and 6dB pads. If you ask a reputable dealer, he should be able to get them for you. You can also check some of the online wholesalers and dealers.
