Anyone here have any experience with Hybrid Audio Technologies? I have read that they have been winning SQ comps and I happen to be in the market for some new drivers.
I am looking into the LEGATIA L631-3's and wondering how they compare to similar Rainbow or Focals…

I've usd every driver in teh 631 setup. I won a MECA world championship using the 631 and an IASCA world championship using the 641 set up.
Overall they are good drivers. If you are planning on mounting the midrange in the kick--go with the 641 setup. The 4" driver has more output and you will want that if you are placing it in the kick.
The 6 is a good midbass. If you can go with an 8", the L8 from Hybrid is an excellent midbass. Well worth the extra effort to get it in the vehicle.
As to comparing them to Rainbow or Focal. I've heard several of the rainbow lines--never heard one I liked. Even the most expensive line made me want to kick a puppy---that tweeter was just bad, I mean really really bad.
On Focal--Not a fan of their lower lines, but you get up into their upper end stuff and it is nice. the Be stuff is stupid good.
On comparing the Hybrid to the Be line though--that is two different worlds in price and you really should do what you can to find somewhere to listen to both and make the decision for yourself.

Cool, thanks for the responce Andy. I am looking for some good SQ drivers to put into my BMW E46 sedan. I am trying to keep the install as stealth as possible so kickpanels arent going to be an option for me. I know this would make the SQ sound stage better but the clean factory look is what I am after here.
I think (just starting to measure everything up)I can fit the 631 setup without major fab work. I have never heard of this company, but they seem to be doing well from all the reponces I have read. I am in Mass so I havent been able to hear them first hand and I really wish I could before I choose.
If anyone else has any opinions I would be happy to hear them. Thanks.
