Will 6.5-7" midbass drivers fit the doors and rear(extended cab) speaker locations? Or am I stuck with 5.25".

If it's a 4door, you can fit certain 6.5" in the back doors, but you have to have the speaker terminals located up, which often means the brandname on the tweeter is upside down, and usually visible if you don't make a cloth grill for them.
Those take 6x9's in the front doors, so you should certainly be able to make 6.5's fit in the front.

Ok. The install is for a friend. I haven't actually looked at the truck yet. It is an extended cab, not a crew. I tried the what fits my car tool on crutchfield, it says 5.25's. I guess I should just have him drop it off, get it torn apart and go from there. Thanx for the input.

if the 2001 is the same in the back as the 1998's were, then you are stuck with 5.25"s
