I used to run USD BC waveguides 10 years ago and sold them. Big mistake [Frown]

So now I would like to use HLCDs again but don't wanna spend $800 on them like I did with the USDs

Could I purchase stand alone horn bodies designed for car audio and mount another compression driver to them? Any thoughts on that or where I can look for them? Is veritas still around? I can't find them on the web.

Or would USD or Image Dynamics sell me just the horn bodies without the driver?

Thanks, Billy

I dunno if USD will sell just the bodies, but ID will.

Veritas is no longer in business.

The new ID Ultras as nice and about $600 for a pair new with drivers.

But any 1" compression driver will mount to any of the bodies you find- Veritas, ID, USD, Illusion, etc.

as long as the drivers exit is the same diameter as the horns entry you should be ok

I just got finished with school yesterday and went by the shop and picked up the bodies. I may have a set of b-stock full sized ID bodies too.

Haven't forgotten about you...sorry. One helluva last 4 weeks.

would I be able to mount something like this on the bodies?

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-274

I'd like to stay around 100 per driver...

Thoughts?

on parts express site; I see 1 3/8" TPI, 2 bolt , and 2/3 bolt all with 1" exits......which of those mounting types will work with the horn bodies?

Any idea?

Thanks!

Bolt on are what all the bodies take. You can get threaded to bolt on adapters.

Yeah, that is a pretty good driver.
