02 acura tl. ive got a alpine pdx 4.100 to push them. Just wondering if its worth getting the qsd's even though they are 5 1/4" or if im better off with the diamonds since they're 6.5"s.

I tryed some Diamond HEX and they had 0 mid bass, That was my only experiace with the company and i think those cost me 600 bucks, I was dissapointed. Ive owned MB Quart from the Discus to the Q's and I would take any of them over Diamond ,,just my opinion

I wouldn't expect a lot of midbass from a 5 1/4. In fact, I would be shocked to see them play below around 80-100hz. I know of 2 5 1/4's that will produce real midbass (skanning and scanspeak revelator---that's it).
I haven't used or played with any Quart since Maxxsonics took over---I've heard it is different from people I trust, but I haven't personally used it, so the below comments are just based around the OLD QSD's:
If you can get the QSD 6 1/2--it will produce some serious midbass. I've seen those played down into the 30hz range without a problem(with proper deadening of the doors and proper baffle). That is one of the better midbass drivers I've played with from a traditional stereo company. I would look for these in a heartbeat
the only diamonds I've ever liked are the ones made by Eton for Diamond. You would have to find them from SEVERAL years ago though. But the Eton made drivers were sweet. Not a fan of anything after that.
