Ive tried to order 2 sets of midrange already where the stores said they have them then had to call me and tell me they actually didn't have them in stock. Well I now got a tracking number on these alpines so i know i am getting them. Was wondering if anybody had experience with these. Does the tweeter start to distort when turned up loud? Or does it have good power handling.

I heard the type R components and liked them except when turned up real loud it sounded like the tweeter couldn't keep up with the woofer. Might have just been how they were setup, poor crossover freq selection maybe. I really just hope the components havn't lost quality like the head units seem to.

I used a set of the type-x components about 2 years ago, in a 2002 Camaro. I liked the way they sounded.

I do think JL's C5 series sounds better though.

If I didn't know better id say those speaker pods were stock. Clean install. Yeah it doesn't look like they have changed the component set much from then to now. Well thats good to know they don't suck too bad. Im upgrading from a set of pioneer coaxials run off deck power, so anything will be a big improvement.

I really wanted to use the type-x midbass setup. I called around. Logan's Car Stereo in Starke, FL told me they had a pair in stock. I drove 45minutes out of town. I show up at the shop, it was just the regular component set. We didn't want to wait and week or two, so we bought them anyways. In the end, a good purchase.
The carpet match was perfect.

I have a pair of the Type-S Components, and for the money, they don't sound bad at all. That got me interested in upgrading to another Alpine component set, looking at the Type-R and the Type-X, but for the roughly the same price, i found Diamond Audio set and i really liked the way they sounded in my buddy's ride.
