I'm sure they are great speakers. Better be for that price. Are you going to like them though? Different component sets have different sound characteristics. Some you may like, some you may not. You need to go to a shop and demo different sets using music you are accustomed to and buy what you like. Back in the day I was in the market for a component set and planned to spend $500-800 on them. I listened to everything all the shops in my town had and ended up with a $300 set of Rockfords. I was suprised too. I didn't especially like Rockford as a brand and really wanted someting "higher end" i.e. more expensive, but I liked how they sounded and that's all that mattered. I didn't like the more expensive sets I listened too. Go, listen, and buy with your ears, not with your eyes. Specs don't matter, cosmetics don't matter, fancy materials don't matter. Sound matters.

i heard the infinity refernce components and the infinity coaxial and thought the coxail sounded better. i don't know but it sounded like it lost some sound in the mid area.this was in a wall at bb right on top of each other so same power, setup everything. and personally i like the alpine r-type(new ones) components better then the mb quarts i heard and r-types were cheaper. it is amazing the difference in the speakers and maybe the mb's sound better on different music. but i agree with karma listen before you buy.
