IMO supertweeters are kinda worthless and maybe just a cheesy design to look good, but i believe they are just really small tweeters to hit even higher frequency ranges...i always thought they sounded tinny tho. anyawy, any good tweeter should have more than enough high end to satisfy most ears-

A super tweeter is a tweeter, usually a high efficiency tweeter (meaning large motor) usually used to fill in the top octaves of a widerange midrange- be it a horn loaded midrange or a single driver like a Fostex. Generally used for about 7k and up. Most home guys will roll them in at 12-15k on a 6dB slope to fill in that last part where said drivers fall off.

Think of it as being the opposite of a woofer and a subwoofer.

i think he is talking about coxials with several tweeters and the super tweeters are like 3/8" and sometimes have several. it = junk. if you look at most high end coxials even 6x9s they only have 1 tweeter and the mid is the 6x9 cone...
