I dont know about other places but them florida boys are crazy loud with mids, highs, and lows. I have spent a few days at Tommy's shop before and heard numerous vehicles that you couldnt even stand within 30 yards of. I have heard that suburban that gmonkey posted and that thing is sick.

these vehicles are usually louder than the dj's at most shows, and are all daily driving. they are also not built for spl in any way,as mot trindadians don't like spl and prefer a very loud sounding system

you want to be louder?

correct^^^

but down here, eminence is left for the "budget" market

most of the brands you can see there and the most common are-

18sound "10m600"
rcf "l10750yk"
rcf "n850" hf driver
selinium hf drivers(3305ti and up)

the thing is, we prefer to have a overall loud musical system, rather than have alot more midrange than bass, and vice versa

so most systems here use pa speakers, and can reach up to 1200wrms on a pair of 10's for your midrange

here's an example-

rcf L10750yk(pair driven by crossfire 1202vr and bandpassed from 90hz to 1.2khz)
rcf n850(pair driven by crossfire 402vr and crossed from 1.2khz and 25khz)
all that plus a 32band eq,and some tuning, and you can have a very very loud system

Well, here Eminence is on the low end side of pro audio speakers.

18Sound and RCF are world class pro audio speakers...right up there with B&C.

The thing is, these speakers can sound wonderful with a proper tune on them.

HI, VERY LOUD SPEAKERS, BUT LOUD DOESN'T MEAN GOOD.YOU NEED SEVERAL AMPS, SEVERAL ACTIVE XOVERS, ONE AMP FOR TWEETERS, ONE FOR MIDS AND ETC. TO GO CLEAN YOU NEED TO USE ACTIVE XOVERS BECAUSE THE MIDS PRODUCE HIGHS AND YOU NEED TO CUT THEM FOR EXAMPLE 2.8 KHZ AND UP FOR TWEETERS AND THE MIDS FROM 500HZ TO 2.8 KHZ WITH DIFERENT SLOPES. THE CAR AUDIO MARKET IS GOING DOWN WITH THIS STYLE OF HEARING PRO AUDIO SPEAKERS. EVERY DAY PEOPLE KNOW LESS ABOUT SOUND QUALITY. I WILL MAKE A COMPANY OF HEARING HEADPHONES FOR THIS PEOPLE WHO PROBABLY HAS HEARING DAMAGE AND NEVER HEARD A GOOD SQ CAR.

what do you guys do for your crossovers? Do you make your own and run a makeshift component set or just rely the crossovers in the amps?
