My car's with the installer with all my old gear, and I've learned that my Kicker RS6s and my 6903s were literally destroyed by the installer who took them out of my last car, so its time for emergency speaker shopping.

My trunk is filled with 2 S12L7s powered with 2 KX550.3s, which leaves me with 2 sets of stereo channels to power my front and rear doors in the Mazda 3.

My budget is a bit limited, around 300USD, so I was thinking Kicker RS65.2 for the front, and either Kicker KS65s in the rear, or Kicker SSMB6s.

Considering the subs will be in separate 3.25 cubic feet ported boxes, tuned to 39hz (or somewhere around that), I'll probably be lacking in the mid-bass range.

Whoever is knowledgeable in this matter, what would give me a better overall sound with the existing equipment, the budget 6.5s or the 6" mid-bass drivers in the rear?

get the RS652's, they have the crossover supplied, you will get great midbass out of them. The 055KS, bot the 05KS, there is an extra 5 in there, was a mid year run, with a bigger tweeter. Make sure it's that pair.
The 400 off each rear channel won't 'over power' the front...IMHO [Smile]

Hey now, as you know very well, Kicker amps are underrated! [Razz] My birth sheets on the 550's were both over 680 watts RMS! Thats 500 piddly watts to the subs, not 400.

But thanks for the advice Polecat. Had to hunt you down from your previous place of posting!
