i don't remember what all jassa had planned. take a few points off the mounting depth and a few other things. i think it was december or maybe beginning of this year when i talked to him about it.

last week i was told they could be built now, so i just ordered them. didn't ask at the time what all was done.

i can repeat what i've heard other users say about the dd mids..... their opinions were- they're not as good in the upper range or with vocals, etc, as they'd like them to be. but great on the midbass and impact was hellacious.

Thats not the experience I had with them at all.

I hope they are changing the FS on the new ones, the old ones were 70-80 I believe, too high for a true midbass driver IMO.

Other than that I didn't find them exceptional at all, I preferred the Adire Koda in doors and in pods.

They DD's would, however, take a beating.

try the new W6.5 LT's if you want mid bass. you better brace the heck out of your door or else you'll lose a lot of energy into panel flex.

i haven't gotten to run them in a small box in the door yet. i have done some IB testing and it is a powerful midbass driver. full range 150w rms, the low bass notes was a little much and the over all sound was surprising. where i would expect most speakers that size to start rolling off, they kept going lower. xover @ 50hz they begged for a lot more than 150w. pretty efficient driver and get decently loud with what i had on them.

i know i've talked about them some with eastcoast. for the others, the FS on the new one's is 36hz and they are quad spider.

here's a lengthy discussion about them.
