I currently have the tweets that come with the Utopia setup. I think that the tweets are just too harsh. They have my ears hurting half the time. Is there another tweet that anybody wants to suggest that will pair well with the Utopia mid? Is it ok to use the Utopia crossover with another tweet? Price is an issue.

The crossover is designed for the speakers...so its a toss up if another tweet will have good results. You could try the LPG 26NA, I used that tweet for a while and found it to be a good performer. It wants to be crossed no lower than 3k 12/db, no idea where the utopia set crosses the tweet.
You can find this tweet at madisound or partsexpress I believe.

Madisound will sometimes build you a crossover they already have designed for the set.
I've not heard the Dayton's to comment, but we always need the feedback if you are willing to try them. I'm guessing the nominal impedance of the set is 8 ohms, so I would bridge the 300.4 to 2 channels.
Many times 8 ohm speakers have a higher sensitivity so the impedance difference may not be as big an issue as you think...don't know if that is the case here.
I would still run maximum power to them.
