Hi all. It's been awhile since I've posted.......heck it's been awhile since I've installed anything nice for myself too, which brings me to my problem. I picked up a set of Focal 165V2S for my truck ('98 Chevy) and due to lack of time did a quick install and didn't check the clearance for the windows and of course they are too deep to allow the window to go all the way down.......Normally I'd have pulled them out and added a spacer but it's something that I didn't get around to. To put it simply, one day the driver's one stopped working while I was on a trip. I'd been running it pretty hard and thought that maybe I'd blown it but when I got around to pulling it out I found that I had just knocked the backing plate (the chrome piece attached to the back of the magnet) loose and it was now pressing the voice coil tight against the side of the magnet........As far as I can tell there's no way to align the piece by hand as the gap is something like 25 thousands of an inch or so. Can anyone think of something I could use as a spacer to re-attach this piece? Does someone have one woofer that they'd like to sell me? Help......I really really miss it!

Hmmm.......that's kinda where I'm at with it. Was thinking that maybe if I were to put 3 or 4 clamps around the exterior of the magnet in just the right locations so that when I drop the backing plate in place it can't go off to one side or another.......probably be difficult to impliment but it doesn't work properly as it is so if I screw it up I won't be out anything.
