After I bought the Viper 1100.5 for my car I'm now really sensitive to high notes, I'm not sure if it's the amp since it's triple the power of my old MTX PRO504, or I'm going crazy. I have to turn the treble in my headunit to -4 @8Khz so my ears don't hurt, I used flat for my MTX before. Now I sit at home and even my HT and my decent computer speakers seem distorted in high notes to me, and I know it wasn't like this before. I can't listen at the same perceived loudness in my car without fatigue. Am I going through some ear break-in period or something isn't right here?

your tweets are to loud cause your sending them to much power. tweeters dont need loads of power to get loud sense there very sensitive, most are 95dbs and up were mids are usually in the mid to hi 80s. if your running your tweets on a separate ch turn the lvl on that ch down till they match the mids.

I have tweeter/mid component sets in the front and 6x9s in the back...so I'm not running 75 watts to each tweeter. It just seems weird to me because I can listen at the same volume with the MTX just fine, but with the Viper my ears will hurt.

differant croxx over slopes/different boards in amps.

they are made differant.

you gotta reset everything,I have the same Pionner 960 with the 6.5 volt preouts, on my Directed amp the gain is about 1/8 of the way up on my mtx(for the mids) its BARLEY even moved from the lowest point. i think -12,still fookin loud
