if you can move up to 7"....check out dyn 340. these speakers are really nice. i had a pair of focal utopias before these....they honestly are not even comparable...the focals are now sitting in a box in my basement.

as a side note....i actually had a 1/3 octave equalizer and late this summer was doing some work to my stereo and had to pull it out in order to add more sound deadening. i decided to listen w/o it connected.....well, it hasn't been hooked up since. the increase in the clarity of the system was worth the slight harshness of the tweeters at high volumes w/o the equalizer.

Why not get a couple sets of Genesis Absolute 2.3s, Bewith Confidences...or Rainbow Reference 3 ways if price really is no object?

Are yuou seriously gonna spend that much on a comp set? If so I've gotta make the trip down there to hear it. I use to come down there quite a bit. got a boy whos girl lives there and and a boy whos parents live there. We manage to hit tinks and the woodlands quite frequently.

Probably not, they are 2 different animals.
Make sure you budget some money on properly installing whatever you get, $5k can sound like rusty butt just as well as $80
