i think you should also try a test. take the speaker wires off one channel of your amp. listen to only 1 side and get used to the loudness. then, mono bridge the amp to that 1 side and see how loud your crystal's can really get. get what ever other speakers you want, but just be aware of the capabilities of what you already have. and deaden up those doors if you haven't done so.

DIY components using B&C Loudspeakers brand drivers. True measured efficiency in the low to mid nineties for most of their convnentional drivers (they have compression drivers as well). The SQ is great on the drivers that I am currently using. The only drawbacks that I have found is a limited bandwidth and one model (of the three tested) had noise generated by the vented pole piece (increase the size of the holes [there were multiple vents around the perimeter rather than one large hole in the center] and smoooth the openings and the noise disappeared). old oz superman series got LOUD and sound damn good. They can take some power too quote: Originally posted by Innov8r: Diamond Audio Hex new ones are garbage IMO. [any hex series they came out with after ETON] yeah, they CAN get loud...but good luck keeping them sounding good at those volumes or even holding together. Aluminum tweeters were just waaaayyy too harsh at almost any volume. Their passives were lacking (mainly an effective way of cooling). 100v caps for some reason couldn't hang with 90v off the rails. Most any old set you find used will have the tops pulled off the passives 'cus they turned brown and melted... -------------------- quote: it would all be for nothing without my favorite cawk-smoker NAvi
