aight yall. Ive searched on here and on cdt's site.

Ive got a set of CD-HD 642's with the 1" silk dome tweeter.

Im curious as to the specs of these. The cubic space that each speaker needs, the 1" tweeter, the 4"mid range and the 6 1/2" woofer. can anyone point me in the right direction? I dont know how big to build the box for each part if I dont know what the like. thanks

steve

are you building a HT enclosure?

if you're going into the car then all you'll need to do is seal your door up. They work well in IB.

well. they arent going in my car. I was thinking of building an enclosure for them to use for my room. They are currently sitting in my room collecting dust, and i really like these speakers and i want to put them to use.

you might want to make sure those speakers sound good ON axis because last i checked cdt is famous for good staging in the factory holes. someone over on sounddomain built some boxes for his cdt's and he said they sounded horrible until he positioned them like they would be in the doors of a car. mine are playing for my calfs and the staging is still good enough i can't justify building kicks.

Ok, so would it be alright if I put my speakers in the factory holes, even if that meant placing them in seperate areas. Like my tweeters in the upper front doors, and the 6.5s in the read doors and the 4's in the bottom of the rear doors?

I could build kicks, but that would take alot of time and Ive never done it before, and I wouldnt want to waste the money ad time and see if completely messed up.

I guess in a nutshell is, I dont want these speakers lyin around, i wanna put em somewhere and listen to em. any suggestions?

The speakers are meant to be together, seperating them like that is not going to sound great.
