i own a 02 civic i just bought a component set but i dont wanna cut holes for my tweeter. could i just buy a custom guage that goes up the piller of my 02 civic and put the tweeter in there? would it work? to big to small? im not sure... check it out for me please.. cause i think this would be sweet if it wil work http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Custom-fit-Single-Pillar-Gauge-Pod-Civic-01-02-03-04-SI_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46100QQitemZ8006269263QQrdZ1

it would look like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-02-03-04-CIVIC-FULL-SIZE-TRIPLE-GAUGE-A-PILLAR-POD_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46100QQitemZ8005832078QQrdZ1 execept only one place for the gauge...

putting a tweeter that high up and far away from the mid will give too much seperation and not sound good. i would suggest making or buying kickpanels. to me, that's where they sound best

if it will work I would say go for it. they aren't that expensive if they don't. and if they do work it will be alot easier than cutting for fabbing kicks. forget the advantages/disadvantages because you'll get them both no matter where you put the tweets.

are you asking if someone has used tweets in the a-pillars or used those specific pillars to mount tweets?

didn't know sound had sexual tendencies. [Confused]

^^ especially in civics and it works well with a high enough crossover point.

If you are using a metal tweet and don't have EQ or atleast attenuation for it, it may not be best to have it firing right at you as a guage would...depending on the tweet, off axis may be better.

does anyone have any pics of a car using tweets in the apiller or where the guage would be?

do you know the angle that the tweets will be facing.

it might sound terible, it might sound incredible.

of coarse youll never know until you try it. but i think your just looking for the easy way out, which is cool we all want the easy way out. but do you really want to sacrifice quality sound for easy install.

i know i would rather just cut a hole, or the way i have them in angle pods that came with my tweets.

did any of the 02' civics come with tweets if so you could just go to a junk yard and find the pods that would fit.

just an idea.

i would think the way those guage pods are angled it wouldnt sound right.
