i am curious about there threeway set the system 360 to be spacific. I would like to know some differences between the dynaudio sound, not neccesarily the threeway because its less likely people have heard the threeway than it is the two way. interested in the differences between mb quart vs dynaudio and focal vs dynaudio. I already know that most mb quart set ups i've heard were almost unlistenable do to overly boosted highs or that metal dome tweeter, and i've heard that dynaudios are noted for they're layed back tweeter but i have no personal experience. ...enlighten me?

i've got the same opinion of quart. i get ran out of vehicles that have them, even on deck power from that painful tweeter.

dyn's are designed to reproduce what they are told. not boosted mid bass, booseted tweeter, etc.. tweeter isn't harsh and they are sweet speakers. give them the best amp and you'll be in love.

their design intent is to try to reproduce the sound as it is heard naturally without any persons taste for boosting this or that in the sound. you hear the crappyness in recordings and limitations of mid grade amps.

if it's not enough tweeter, there is a +3 and 6 db position on their xover that will boost the tweeter without taxing the amp.

soon i will be adding their md 330D and md 140's to run along with the mw 170.

i have 240 gt's, system 260, and have played with the system 240's.

they should have a dealer in so cal, go listen. that will work a heck of a lot better than me trying to tell you my opinion on how they sound. but if you have any more specific Q's, feel free to ask.

The top of the line QSD's are nice IMO if you have some EQ on the high end.

Dyns sound more...dry I would say, warmer than the quartz, but more real out of the box IMO.

I like their sound.

eastcoast, i like the sound of your description of likeing the soung. I really think they will be perfect for this application.

As for amps 95 1500 i will either be using ppi art or esx q amps to push them and the sub will be either an idmax or three jl w6 12s, hey im young here. If i use the ppi art it will be a pair of a1200s one for front stage because i've heard dyns like power and one for sub or subs because more power is better.

I like Dynaudio. To me, it is a natural/neutral sounding speaker...tad on the dry side of things, which is how I like it.

yep, they love power. i first had 125 rms x 2, to mine years ago. just didn't cut it. so i mono bridged my amp to just one side,..... decided yep,... time for a bigger amp. they get loud and stay sounding awesome all the way up.

some speakers will only sound so good, and putting a better amp will not do any better because of the limitaions of the drivers. it just keeps getting better with the dyns.

he's referring to me about the esotar's (md 330D tweeter). you can get a comp set that has the esotar in it. they are $$$.

but that's not all..... i'm eye-baller-ing the tru tech c 7.4 and their AC 1 also. will be talking to their rep again this week to try out some samples. good thing i live in the outskirts, have a pitbull, guns, and so do my neighbors!

mike- swing by a crystal dealer and check out their sscs 6 component set. let me know what you think of those. there's quite a few dealers down there in so cal.

aahhh, yep. i wasn't told about amps. i was given a hint that they were doing oem for VW. at that time it was supposed to still be a secret until it was out. i never asked again to find out what all they did.

I cruised VW's site a bit, and customized a loaded 06 Passet, I think it came out at like 50 grand haha.
In the mix of the website I seen a pic of a amplifier that said Dynaudio, unless it was the most chrome speaker cover ever.
In Midwest we have Passat commercials specifically aimed at showing the Dynaudio stereo system, as well as many of its "120 new features".
Glove compartmant cooled, umbrella in the door trick.....etc

What's sad is that if the speakers in the VW are like the ones that came in the Dyn system in the Volvos, then they are pretty much the same driver as the aftermarket Dyn mobile fidelity line...

Could be sad or good depending on how you look at it.
