Hey, i'm new here, so if this is in the wrong forum mod's please move, thanks.

I am looking for a pair of 6.5" components to deliver NICE sound, especially high's for my car.

I am on a budget around 100$

I've been offered a deal for a pair of CDT KA-61 for 75$, new in the box (localy)

Is there something better? are these good speakers?

Is it worth spending about 40$ to get Infinity Refrence 6010CS off ebay?

I just had to return a pair of pioneers because they were WORSE then my 9yr old torn apart stock spekaers, so I am looking for somethng I can get and be happy with and not regret spending the money.

Thanks.

Oh and also..

I plan on either getting mid-bass speakers for the rear or a single sub in the trunk, which do you guys think would be better?

either way all the speakers would be amplifed from an external amp.

(going to do some more research on mid-bass speakers now..)

highly recommend the subwoofer approach versus putting your midbass behind you, spend a little more for a powerful mid/midbass driver component set up front, so you don't have to have the rear fill, just the sub.

Ah, i'm so confused..

What would be the best setup for me?

As in what type of speakers for rear/front/sub and what should be amplified externaly and not?

I am looking for decent bass, but not overpowering the high's, and decent high's aswell but not overpowering the mid's if that makes any sense

thanks.

save your money and get a decent set of components. for under $200 to your door, you can get a set of the dls r6a, or the crystal sscs 6's. they both sound really good and stout mid bass. crystal is better on upper vocals and instruments, with a finer detail, the dls is stronger down in the 60-80hz range. but it's not like one sucks for mid bass and the other sucks for vocals. that is just the points where one shines a little better than the other. with a set of these, you could live without a sub until you got the money. they do good off of deck power, but come alive with an amp. and these are not speakers that you would get rid of later on to buy better ones. you'd actually spend less money getting good comps, rather than o.k. comps and something for mid bass.
