I've not owned the above sets, but I have heard them all extensively except for the CDT's.

IMO the Cantons and the dyns are the most natural, the focals are a little to edgy IMO, never heard the CDT's but I don't ever see them or hear of them in the competition circuit. Are you going to be able to fit a 10" midbass as that is what the canton set contains. Seems like that would be the deciding factor. Be warned, the dyns like power to perform, that set would like 300 watts, though so would the cantons.

Not that it truly matters as there was extensive eq-ing and tuning going on, but I won the Novice class "Best Sounding vehicle" at last year's SLAP Finals using the canton 2 way set and my own midbass. They are nice sounding speakers, and very reasonably priced.

Havent heard Canton products in a decade ( never heard anything but praise for the brand and its current line up).
I have owned or listened to each of the others (the CDT the least) and they all sound very different. The CDT can be bright and the Focal lean but when set up properly both are detailed and accurate. The Dyns are as EastCoast described, the Dyn crossover can roll off or add tweeter and midrange output. **edit- I think the Dyns can be happy with 150 WPC**

The prices of the sets are very different too...

In the price range there are others worth considering and it is very subjective (listen to a lot of stuff before you buy)

You can definately run them with that, but they really come alive with double that. You should listen to the dyns before buying if you are considering those, they don't suit a lot of people's tastes, just like the focals don't suit my taste.

Personally, with a little work, I love the sound of Dyns.

I've had the Canton QS 2.16 with 2 differant drivers as 8" midbass, they sounded great but didn't get as loud as I would of liked.
CDT are more efficient / get louder, and I own them now [Smile]
