Hey Guys,
My first post here in this forum. I just have a few quick questions.
1. I am replacing my set of 6.5" components in my front doors, which would you buy? Besides the 4 listed, do you have any opinions on some really hi-end components?
a. Focal K2P 165 KP
b. Boston Acoustics Z6
c. Dynaudio System 240 GT
d. CDT Audio ES-620 Eurosport

2. I have a brand new in the box JL Audio 13W7 sub waiting for install. I need you guys expert opinion on what kind of box to make. Some of my choices are:
a. Sealed MDF box with the woofer facing the back seats and folding one of my rear seats down.
b. Sealed Fiberglass box in the sparetire well.
c. Sealed MDF box with the woofer facing the rear of the car.
My current set-up is three 10" Audiobahn ALUM10Q's in a sealed fiberglass box in the sparetire well. This is the first time using the Audiobahn's and I'm not really all that impressed. I listened to my friend's car with a JL Audio 1000/1 amp running one 13W7 and it blew me away! What set-up would give me the maximum amount of bass?

i don't think you will go wrong with those components, my coice would be more towards the dynaudio or focal. for daily listening, there's a handful of other good high end components also.
for the sub, facing rear would give you good "loading" and more cabin gain. if you make a good tuned ported facing rear, you will have more bass and still sound good. with you wanting maximum amount of bass, is what i would do.
even putting your audiobahns in a good tuned ported, facing rear would do wonders for them.

There are lots of great comp sets out there but, like those in your list, they can sound quite different. In adition to your list of uber comp sets you can include Alpine, Image Dynamics, Morel, Morel USA, Eclipse, Diamond, DLS, JBL, Oz, Zapco, Usher and there are LOTS more too. I would never buy a product without listening to it first ...

The max abount of bass would be a properly sized box, ported (or bandpass) out of a stiff material (not fiberglass). Glass makes it pretty
