ok so today i think i totaly f*cked myself.
i was doing some work, installing a Clarion MCD360, everything was going fine.
i ran into a problem with one amp grounding out. blew a fuse, took that out.
i fired it up, everything was working fine for a while.
first thing that went, the sub, it just started moving with no audible output. like i had a 30hz tone going but i didnt.
so after that i get noise from the front speakers. i took off the xover, still got noise. went to the HU, i started taking out rca's when all of a sudden as soon as i took out one rca the front speakers make a high pitch squel.
it seems like the HU is bad because when it reads the cd you can hear it through speakers.

i've seen a few pioneers do this, they react really badly to rca feedback, which could happen if you were unplugging random stuff to find the source of your problem. I've done this before, one of the reasons i refuse to unhook anything unless the system is off, replacing a customer's deh3500 sucks when i could have been more patient, and all it was was alt whine. Good luck, hope it wasn't the xover i sold yoűiat messed stuff up, i'll feel bad if thats true.

it seems like your the only one who is awake, hehe.
im thinking its the HU. i was messing with the ground from the radio and it was changing the noise. so tomorrow if i get the chance new ground. im going to gut out the truck and re run all the wire.

fun fun, try that same routine, in a benz e430 with a pissed of customer who didn't listen when i told him this might happen cause i didn't trust the kenwood cd deck he brought me.

Looking at the picture in the SQ section, it looks like you screwed the crossover into a metal seat bottom. That seat is bolted to the vehicle. You are probably grounding out through the crossover chassis and with the normal ground on the wiring causing a ground loop. Remove the crossover from the seat back and see if it goes away.

damn dude that sux. that was what you were talking bout on the last pm huh. i would have said somethings grounding out too but i guess not. my first premier 860 had a messed up motherboard and it got noise like you are describing. so sad to say but its prob the H/U.
