ok, i am currently running Kappa 6.5 coaxials mounted in my doors. they are reciving about 100 watts a piece through a PPI art series. I would like to upgrade my front stage, but i'm having a difficult time deciding. I have read alot of posts haling Canton as the best for the money, while Dynaudio for complete crispness. I've not heard much praise for Boston or MBQuart. Why not? I've heard both and thought they were superb. I haven't heard Canton. So what i'm asking is give me some advantages and disadvantages to Boston Pro Series, MBQuart, and Canton. Thanks

Canton is IMHO, the best your going to get of the brands listed. MBQ's Mids sound great, but they're tweets leave a whole lot to be desired, while BA seems to have the opposite problem, the tweet is very nice, but the mids are lacksidasical at best. If you looking for best SQ, go listen to Canton, a/d/s/, Oz audio, and Focal, in that order. Dyn's sound great also, just way overpriced considering the Canton, again, IMO, sounds better.

Good advice from Audiophyle. I would add RF Q (top of the line, sorry, letters get mixed up upstairs sometimes), PG ZeroPoint, Morel, and maybe even Eclipse. Also worth checking out: Dynaudio and Focal.
In an ideal world, you could mix and match the Quart mids with the BA tweets . Not sure if most shops will let you do that though. I've not heard the Cantons, but heard the accolades from some very respectible people. So, they'd not be a bad choice at all.
a/d/s and Oz....need say no more dude!! I've liked Orion's XTR, but then again I also listen to a lot of Metal, so it was very nice and hard/heavy. Not sure if that'd get you your preferred sound.
I've not heard the CV Vega component sets, but I've heard their co-axials. If they are any indication, they may be worth checking out. Also, Polk makes very good equipment. Not my preference, but excellent equipment.
Might still be able to find Soundstream Exact series component sets. Anyone know if they are still made? (still in business?)

I always found MB to lack midbass grunt and be a 'tad' peaky all over the tweet (translation = screaming death)
Canton. Ooooh yeah. For the $$ (heck for twice the $$) they are hard to beat. They may even beat out my USD BC3IIs & 8s for front end in my SQ car.... (now how's that for different ends of the realm!!)

IMO MBQ's are nice sounding components overall, though not worth the price. Most people jumped on the bandwagon when they were winning IASCA a lot, judges included... I have also noticed that the tweets tend to sound a bit harsh. I have not heard the Cantons as of yet, so I sit neutral on those. OZ definitely has a very nice sound, as anyone who sat in the S-10 at SBN can tell you. a/d/s has always made some very nice speakers, though a tad pricey. I would like to add the Diamond Audio Hex series to the list. Just my experience...

Yeah, those Diamond Audio Hex sound great, as do their MotorSport. Also, Illusion Audio sounds good, and works very well if you have depth limitations.
One thing to consider.. I own Oz separates, and while I am SOOOOO impressed with their overall sound, the detail in the midrange, silky smooth tweeter et. all, I have blown 4 tweeters to date, as well as 1 midrange (damaged voice coil). Now, I realize this points to me as the source of the problem, but my signal path to the speakers is pretty impeccable and my listening tastes are NOT loud, so I would watch out, those speakers could die on you if you beat on them.
FN'Q's on the other hand, will chase you out of the damn car, given enough power.
