i'm looking for a component set with good midbass that would match a 15" sub in a ported box, and a high end that's smooth but at the same time can be spine tingling with the right songs.. here's my current choices:

JL Audio Evolution VR650CS
Focal Polyglass 165v
Memphis Multisync6.5

thanks

I've never even heard OF the multi-sync.. The polyglass items are nice from focal. I'm not a big JL fan, they have a tendency to be a bit too bright for my ears. The focals are moderately bright as well. You'll get this a lot, but I'd say focal.

HEY! I'm looking for a CHEAP used Clarion Thunderdome.. Hook me up!

If the sub moves, use it. If the tweet's metal, lose it.
If you car doesn't have Oz, I just can't excuse it.

I've listened to all three and I would reccomend the Memphis. I absolutely love the sound from their multisync line and the price point is real nice too. They work extremely well in kick panel applications and their off axis response makes them very forgiving when it comes to placement. In a very close second I would put the Focal but the JL VR series stuff is in a far off third. We sell Memphis and JL at our shop and I have a hard time reccomending JL VR series stuff over many competitors gear. If you had said XR then thats a different story. That stuff is excellent quality but the price goes up with it. Either way you go I'm sure you'll be pleased.
