Captain Budget to the Rescue ..... *cackle*
Brands that won't break you, but still sound great:
Coaxials -
Blaupunkt
JBL
Infinity Reference
Kenwood
Kicker Impulse
Polk (they, like Infinity and Kicker have several different models and lines to choose from)
Cerwin-Vega (The Stealth Series is nice, but the Vega series is better, IMO)
Rockford Fosgate (3 Lines to choose from)
JL Audio (Excellent quality at all price ranges)
Orion Cobalt
Fosgate and JL will run you a bit more than the others, on average, but they should all be available at 150 or less/pair depending on the size and power (RMS) you want.
As for amps:
Cheap and good -
MTX Road Thunder
Kicker Impulse
AudioArt
Kenwood
Crossfire
Audiobahn
USAccoustics
Earthquake offers some good value amps
Memphis
Rockford Fosgate Series 1 amps are good, but not sure if you can still find them
Rockfod Fosgate Punch amps are very nice, a little more $, but they give you a bit more Power too
JBL and Blaupunkt amps are pretty decent Orion Cobalt
I haven't had the chance to audition JVC, Cerwin-Vega, or JL Audio amplifiers yet.
Subs:
Audiobahn
Pioneer (not a big fan, but not too expensive)
Cerwin-Vega Stealth III
Kicker Impulse (Not sure if Kicker still does this, but they were the previous year's Competition model [not the Solos, but the C class])
Rockford Fosgate Punch XLC (next up from the XLZ)
MTX Thunder 4000 and 6000 (if you can find an MTX 5000 - take it!!)
JL Audio W3 (W0 is their intro line and is still pretty nice)
AudioArt (They are nice, but there are better out there)
Orion Cobalt (Typically they are last year's XTR model)
Check the source units, amplifier, and sub forums for more information on particular amps, head units, and subs. Also, check out the classified section if you're wanting to buy something from one of the Termpro members. Regardless of where you buy from, make sure you check out the warranties and stuff like that.
Oh yah, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!

Alright thanks for the help UB. One more thing my fear is that I will buy new speakers, amp, and a subwoofer but it wont match. Like the right output or something like that with the radio. I may be way off but am I supposed to match anything up when buying anything.

Good question. Most of the amps listed above and just about any others out there should be able to accept a wide range of input levels. Some can take Hi-Power (speaker wire) and RCAs or both (use one or the other).
You shouldn't have a problem with the radio / cd player sending too much to the amp. SS, Audiophyle, Dukk, etc. are much more able to answer the specifics on that one.
Also, don't worry about having all 1 brand (RF amp, RF mids, RF subs, RF Head-unit). There is nothing wrong with that, but feel free to have a cross-fire and fosgate amp with one running to the Infinity Reference coaxials and the other to the Kicker Subs. With the signal coming from a Clarion CD player. (wasn't sure if the question could be taken that way)

Do you have an MD recorder at home? If so then it doesn't really matter day to day. Of course you would be limited to only MDs unless you get a changer....
For system set up, I recommend 2 pair of coaxials, a single 12, and a decent 50x2 amp bridged on the 12. Then if you want to expand in the future you can put the amp on the front, get a bigger one for the back, and potentially add another 12.

Dukk You do seem to know what your takin about. what you say make sense but then I have another 2 openings left. I have 2 in the front (4 x 4) and 2 in the back (4 x 6). What should I do with the extra spots?
