Ok, im gonna run a set of MB Quart RSB 215 5.25 inch componets in the doors of my truck. But im afraid that the bass will rule over the mids and highs. So i was going to add in an extra set of JL Audio Evolution VR series tweeters with the given passive tweeters. Both Brands have X-Overs.

I was thinking about running the extra set of tweeters off the same tweeter out puts off the MBQ x-overs to make wiring a little cleaner and simpler. The amp that will be used is a PPI 2360, its a 120x2 @ 4ohm amp.

Will this type of setup be ok like this?

DAMN!!!!!! MB Quarts not bright enuff???

see what happens without the extra tweet..

if u connect the extra tweet to the passive Xover it will change the highpass freq = bad..

i cant believe mb quarts tweets arent enuff!!

personally i would be more worried about lack of midbass

Try just the Quarts first. They are extremely bright and should be enough. IF they are not, then try the JLs. You might even want to ask the install/sales people if you can switch tweets Quart to JL and back to see which plays better for the system. Same with the mid-bass driver. There is no set-hard fast rule that Brand X Mids must go with Brand X Tweets (unless sold together). If you can mix/match, try that too!!

Personally though, I'd think with 120 RMS clean power coursing through them, those tweets will be loud enough (IMO).

UB is correct as usual. You're using the
Q series which I would be very surprise if you don't wind up using the attenuation on
the crossover at least at -4db.

The JL tweet you mentioned is very nice, but
if after the Quarts you don't have enough
highs, try the XR series tweeter from JL as
I suspect the VR may not seem bright enough
for you given the idea that the Quarts may
not have enough highs for you.

Well, i was asking this question in advance to installing them, I have the componets and I also have the JL tweeters as well. I'll see what happens with the MBQ mids then. I dont really car for mid bass since i'll never really hear it anyway. I'm just using the 5.25" driver to make out the song somewhat.

So from what i have recieved from the 4 of you guys this is what ill do.

Install the MB Q componets with the 120x2 amp, if then they arent bright enough then and only then will i install the JL VR series tweeters with a 70x2 amp dedicated to the JL tweeters only. That right there will definately be plenty of high end. The 70x2 amp is another PPI amp, its the PPI 2240.
