My Elemental Designs subs shipped today, and I'm ordering my Alpine 500 watt V12 amp and Alpine 7892 today. That's all I should have until a few months, so I need to start researching speakers.

The basic info is; car 1997 Ford explorer 4 door xlt, with 5x7 and 5 1/4 openings.

I can't do kickpanels because I'm getting a new car in 2 years, and I don't want to put all that work into it. I want a component set up front and either some coaxials or midbass in the back.

I want my components clear, crisp, loud, and under $350. I'm looking at the Adire Audio Koda series right now. It seems to be the best for the buck. JBL GTi series looks good as well for the money. Any other suggestions you would have? I listen to mainly just rap and punk music.

The amp I'm going to get is most likely going to be the Alpine MRV-F340 or 540, according on if I get coaxial or midbass.

Coaxial, I'd just want something cheap that goes with the front; ie. same brand.
Midbass is another story. I'm definitely looking at Image Dynamics and Digital Designs. I'm thinking 6.5" midbass.

Also, more about the front. I've heard horns sound a lot better than tweeters, but I have a few questions. I was thinking of geting the ID component system with the mini horn. How do you install these and where do they go? Do they take a lot of watts? Are they really that great?

Thanks for all the help.
