i have a set of kicker resolution components in my front doors. anyone that is familiar with these knows that they come with a mammoth crossover. i tucked these in my door panels, and forgot about them(figurativly). this morning when i was leaving for work, i noticed a light coming from the edge of my door panel(it was still dark outside). as i was playing my stereo rather loud, i turned it down and pulled over the next chance i had. then i turned it back up and pulled my panel loose. there are filaments in the xover that glow rather brightly when played at volume. is this normal?

I am pretty sure that the kicker resolution sets have a lightbulb in series with the tweeter to act as tweeter protection. If too much power is going to the tweeter the light will light up. When the light lights up the impedance of the light goes up and the power to the tweeter goes down. So yes this is normal.

cool, i was worried there for a little bit. but now that you say that, it did look like a lightbulb type filament...now does anyone know if it's a long life bulb?? j/k
