hey all i got 2 RE XXX 12's and i need a comp set for around $250 with good SQ to match up with them. they'll have a bridged Jbl 80.4 powering them (80-100W each side) they'll also be mounted on the stock locations at the doors , i have no room for kicks in there. the mid is on the lower side of the door (i'll try to aim it from there what do you think of that?) and the tweet is about 15 inches away also on the upper side of the door ( not a-pillar) facing at the windshield (stock) any suggestions anyone? i was looking at focal 165k , Mb quarts , Boston... em.. i need some input pls and not over $250

I can't say anything wrong about Focal's. However, I'm using the Polk MOMO MM465's.

My vote is for none of them. Most comp sets are overpriced for what they are. I think that you can get better sound by buying separate tweets and mids depending on what you are trying to do and build your own set. It will be cheaper to boot . . .

My all-time favorite component system would have to be the old Boston Acoustics Rally Series. I mean the RC41, RC51, and RC61. I have yet to find a speaker that performs better (with or without an eq.) for that little money. In fact I would argue that they sound better than some speakers that cost a lot more. That's why I bought my RC41's back in 1996. They are still going strong. Thanks. Mark Fenske

I'm very curious to see what the new Adire comp set will do. Seems to be a super nice set for the cost, designed for stock locations too, if you don't want to build kicks.
I'm sure dan wont let us down.
However, my current fav out of what I have yet to hear is in my sig
