i'm rather new to raw drivers. i got my first taste when ordering some tweets for my home speakers from parts express 2 years ago, but i dont know much about them.

i've been noticing that many tweeters that i see have a 6 ohm impedence. what is up with this? i thought it was rather manditory to have 8 ohm drivers for home audio? as far as using these tweets in my truck, the 6 ohm drivers would not pull as much power out of my amp as i would like, since the woofers i plan to use are 4 ohm dvc (i plan to wire them in parallel).

can anyone offer any insight into this? thanks

in home audio some recievers and amps run better at 6 ohms with out the stress of runing at 4 ohms, in cars its different, so in the home arena you should be fine

i was lookin at some vifa metal tweets from madisound catalog...they run at 6 ohms. being that my mids will be at 2 ohms, there would be a huge difference in impedence, and amplifier output. any suggestions? get two tweets and wire em in parallel lol

if your that concerned just hook up a Zoble network. the imp. of a spk changes over its range so I would worry about that
