I'm looking to match some mids up with a pair of IDQ 8's I'll have in a sealed box . The car is a Legacy wagon that fits 6 1/2 however I'm wondering if they're too close in size and I should drop down to a 5 inch .

Here's someone else's car, for that matter do you think I could fit the IDQ 8's in the doors ? The grills are set out pretty far so clearance shouldn't be a problem. Would it sound good or crappy ? I'd probably match them up with a set of 4 inch mounted next to them and tweets over the mids.

Forgot to add, I'll probably cut the 8's off at 125Hz, I have IDQ 12's in another car set for 80Hz so this is a rough guess.

don't quite get what you mean...you say they are going to be in a sealed box then you ask if they can fit in the doors...are you going to be building an enclosure in the doors for them?

as far as i know for these subs they wont work to well in free air

I was toying with the idea of subs in the doors but they won't fit . What I'm doing is building a sealed box in the back of the wagon for the 8's .

So, I'd like to know what's a good size mid to match up with a pair of 8's ? I can fit anything in the front doors up to a 6 1/2.
