I finally got a pair of the Scan Speak W18-8531G00 7" revelators to play with, and a pair of the Vifa XT25 tweeters. Still working on the cabinet design that I will use to test out the midbass, then maybe see how they will do in the car. I don't know that the Vifas will make it into my final speaker design, but I've wanted to play with them for quite some time.

Now I just have to wait to get my new midranges built for my car...

The XT25s won't be going into the car. I'm building some home speakers with the revs and the XTs so I can have something right now and test out the revelators, before I build my 3 way towers when my midranges get here. My car will probably have the 7" revelators in the doors, midrange in the kicks and unknown tweets in the A pillars. That is if the revelators sound good enough in the doors.

I was thinking of just using the scan-speaks in the kicks with a tweeter in the A-pillar, but since I'm having midranges custom built for the car, I think I'll use them.

Oh Yeah! I think I told you I was getting some built for my home speakers, after I told him I was interested in using them in my car as well, he told me he would change some things to make them a little more suited for the car.

Still a monster motor on a 4" cone, with everything geared to have the best midrange possible. Too bad I have to wait about 2 months for them.

jc2,

are you having your drivers built by HUMAN speakers?

No, not HUMAN. It is a Danish company that is building them for me.
